Chapter Thirteen

The following Monday sitting in her office, Imari sighed and leaned back into her chair with her eyes closed getting frustrated with herself, because she couldn’t focus on coming up with ideas for her new client’s wedding. The moment her eyes closed, she pictured Ashton standing on the candlelit patio smiling at her, causing her breath to hitch and her womanhood to clench. Then she remembered how safe and secure she felt in his warm embrace. As their bodies, moved as one, she could feel how sensitive her nipples became as they rubbed against his hard muscular chest, and she knew he could feel her heart racing in her chest.

The woody scent of his cologne was causing all her senses to go haywire, along with the feeling of his hand on her lower back as he seemed to be caressing her ever so slightly. Then looking into his eyes, she could see the need and passion that she was sure was mirrored into her own. Taking a deep breath, Imari replayed the sound of his voice in her head, and how it seemed to vibrate through her body forcing her to push down the moan that was threating to rise in her throat.

“Damn, that must be a good dream for you not to hear me knocking on your door for the past five minutes,” someone said causing Imari to jump in her seat, and instantly putting her hand over her heart.

When she opened her eyes Imari found Mia sitting in front of her desk smiling at her.

Sighing and shaking her head, “Sorry, I was just trying to come up with some ideas for the King wedding, and I keep coming up empty handed,” Imari groaned as she tossed her pen on her desk.

“Would any of this frustration have anything to do with a certain restaurant owner?” Mia asked as her smile seemed to brighten.

Shaking her head again, “Why would you say that of all things?” Imari asked as she leaned forward on her desk with her arms folded on the desk in front of her as she gave Mia her full attention.

“Come on Imari, you live for planning weddings, and God knows how many other events, and here you are frustrated after going on this date with Mr. Kelly. So my question is, what are you going to do with all that frustration?” Mia asked as she leaned back in her chair and crossed her legs.

Sighing and shaking her head as she leaned back into her chair, and just when she was about to reply to Mia’s question someone knocked on her door.

“Come in,” she yelled, and when the door opened all she saw was a big arrangement of red roses, then she saw that Ava was carrying them.

“Those are beautiful,” Mia said as Ava sat them on Imari’s desk.

“I’ll bet you twenty dollars that I know who sent them!” Ava stated as she sat down beside Mia. Imari stood up and smelled their sweet aroma, causing her to smile.
